NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A wintry blast has dropped up to 4 inches of snow across the northern portion of Louisiana along the Arkansas border.
National Weather Service meteorologist Mario Valverde in Shreveport says that's likely the end of it though as the weather system has pushed through as of 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Still, he says residents should remain cautious as the temperatures continue to drop and chances grow for ice to accumulate on roads.
Valverde says there have been reports of fender-benders throughout the area but no deaths as a result.
The winter storm warning the area was under for most of the day has expired.
Meanwhile, Commissioner of Administration Kristy Nichols says state government offices will be closed Thursday in Caldwell, Lincoln, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, Union and West Carroll parishes.
