Jefferson Parish deputies exchanged gunfire with a suspect while serving a search warrant in 7th Ward.

The incident happened around 12:20 a.m. Thursday in the 2400 block of Pauger Street.

Deputies with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, along with the Gretna Major Crimes Task Force, the NOPD and a Homeland Security, were serving a narcotics search warrant at a home in the area when the incident occurred.
