Mandeville CPA pleads guilty to stealing millions from employer

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A man charged with embezzling millions of dollars from his employer, who FOX 8 sources say is the popular Perlis clothing store, changed his plea to guilty on Thursday.

CPA Michael Sapera was accused in a four-count bill of information of bank fraud, aggravated identity theft and wire fraud. The federal government says he embezzled about $2.8 million from his employer over the last 19 years.

U.S. District Judge Eldon E. Fallon set sentencing on May 28, 2015.
