NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - An officer with the New Orleans Police Department has been placed on emergency suspension for allegedly soliciting a prostitute.
Officer Ananie Mitchell was arrested on Monday on violations relative to solicitation of prostitution, police say.
On February 24, the Public Integrity Bureau received information regarding the possible criminal behavior of Mitchell and launched an investigation. On Monday, PIB arrested Mitchell on the violations.
Following the arrest, PIB placed Mitchell on emergency suspension without pay.
Mitchell is a five-year veteran of the NOPD and was most recently assigned to the Gang Task Force.
