Lafourche sheriff's: Teen arrested for drugs, guns

LAFOURCHE PARISH, LA (WVUE) - The Lafourche Parish sheriff's deputies arrested a 19-year-old after an incident in Gheens, La.

Investigators say Monday just before 11 p.m., deputies responded to a call in the 2200 block of LA Highway 654. They say Caleb Baugh had reportedly punched another man. While on their way to the scene, deputies say they saw a car fitting the description of the vehicle Baugh was driving and pulled him over. Deputies say Baugh and two passengers were in the vehicle. Baugh allegedly admitted to punching the man in the face. Investigators say they also found guns and large amounts of pills and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

The Sheriff's Office says Baugh was charged with possession with intent to distribute clonazepam and MDMA, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of persons under 17 years old, and simple battery. He is being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in lieu of $14,500 bond.

Another passenger in the vehicle, 19-year-old Thomas Guidroz, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

A juvenile found in the car was charged with a curfew violation.
