Teen robbed of cash, shoes while exiting school bus in N.O. East

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A 14-year-old was robbed of cash and his shoes after getting of a school bus in New Orleans East.

According to NOPD, an unknown black male got out of a black SUV and approached the teen at the corner of Dwyer Road and Westlake Drive around 4:25 p.m. The man knocked the victim to the ground and started to beat him, demanding money. A second man exited the SUV, pulled out a handgun and demanded the teen's shoes.

The teenager gave up his shoes and about $5 in cash. The suspects then got back into the SUV and fled the scene.

The victim was treated and released from the hospital with a contusion and abrasions to his face.

Police are searching for three suspects in this case. The first suspect, the driver of the SUV, is described as a black male with a brown complexion and thin build. Police say he is about 18 to 22 years old and had a light-colored bandanna tied around his forehead.

The second suspect, the one who pulled out a gun, is described as a black male with a dark complexion, about 5'5" tall, 17-years-old and about 150 to 160 pounds. He was wearing a black polo-style shirt with white writing on the upper left chest area.

The third suspect, who attacked the victim, is described as a black male, about 17 to 22 years old, about 6'0" tall with shoulder-length dreadlocks. He was wearing a red shirt and blue jeans.

Police say the SUV is black with a  luggage rack on top and temporary plates.
