SCHRIEVER, LA (WVUE) - A man detained by deputies in Schriever became unresponsive and died shortly after, officers say.
Deputies say that Troy Brady, 49, died after being detained by Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's deputies. Officers say they received multiple calls in reference to an armed male walking in the roadway with a gun firing several rounds into the air.
Deputies arriving on the scene found Brady sitting in the middle of West Main Street with a shotgun nearby. Officers say Brady was immediately detained.
As deputies investigated, officials say he became unresponsive. Brady was transported to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center by EMS. He was pronounced dead shortly after.
A cause of death has not been determined. Officials are awaiting results of an autopsy.
