NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The man accused of killing a 6-year-old boy in a hit-and-run accident has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Judge Dennis Waldron rejected Arthur Toledano's request for a new trial on Wednesday morning, according to our partners at Nola.com/The Times Picayune.
Toledano allegedly stick the boy while traveling 71 mph on Paris Avenue. The incident happened on February 3, 2014.
Shaud Wilson, 6, was attempting to cross the street with his 9-year-old sister Shayna when they were struck. Shaud died a short time after being struck. Shayna survived with head injuries.
Toledano was found guilty Friday in the death of 6-year-old Shaud Wilson .
