(WVUE/FOX) - Apple reportedly plans to delay the start of production on a larger iPad until around September.
Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal say the move is due to delays involving the supply of display panels. Apple was expected to start making the 12.9-inch device this quarter.
Right now, the iPad Air has a 9.7-inch screen.
The larger tablet is part of CEO Tim Cook's effort to reinvigorate the iPad product line, since sales dropped 18 percent in the last quarter of 2014.
The iPad also faces competition from larger iPhones, which were introduced in September.
