NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson says he has moved on from the initial shock after his daughter and two grandchildren sued him over his business empire.

In an interview with the New York Times, he said "When your family attacks you, it's kind of hard to take, hard to understand. But I finally accepted it, and hopefully it will work out all right. The only bad thing is, you just go your way and leave us alone, you know?"

Benson will undergo a mental health evaluation this month as part of the lawsuit over the future of his assets when he dies.

In January, Benson announced he will transfer ownership of his teams to his wife, Gayle, instead of leaving it to his daughter and grandchildren.
