NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

With several periods of heavy rainfall and the accumulation over the next few days, the National weather Service has extended the flash flood watch through Friday at 6 p.m.

On Tuesday the airport saw a record 2.15" with much of that occurring in 90 minutes. Not surprisingly, flash flooding was observed on several streets in Kenner and elsewhere.

There appears to be a bit of a break in the rain early today, with most happening late this afternoon and evening. Another break will come overnight and early Thursday, with another heavy round during the latter part of Thursday and into early Friday.

We finally begin drying out for the weekend with spring-like temperatures through the next seven to 10 days!
