NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

New Orleans is well represented in the “American Idol” top 12.

Quentin Alexander and Joey Cook advanced Wednesday night. They are among the exclusive top 12 contestants.

Wednesday's musical theme was to revisit each performer's audition song.

Saved by one the judges' two Wild Cards, Quentin Alexander lives to sing another day. On Wednesday, Alexander performed his rendition of Lorde's “Royals.” Mobile users can watch the performance here: http://bit.ly/1AhBI4d

Metairie native Alexander, a McDonogh 35 grad, has wowed the audience and the judges with a unique flair.

In addition to Alexander, the quirky Joey Cook has also advanced to the top 12. She performed "King of Spain" by The Tallest Man on Earth in one of Wednesday night's most unique performances. Mobile users can watch here: http://bit.ly/19egUEi

Cook is a Virginia native. However, she has recently adopted the city of New Orleans as her home.

American Idol continues Thursday with a two-hour episode at 7 p.m. on FOX 8.

Three turnovers against the lowly Jets can still get you a win in this league. Numerous giveaways against the Eagles, Vikings, Rams, or Panthers might not give you the same result in the standings. The Saints end the season with the Falcons and the Bucs. If they want to end the 2017 regular season campaign on a win streak, things need to be cleaned up. "Two fumbles, and at times you're going to score. I just think that's happened too many times to us this year. We're knocking a...
