NEW YORK (WVUE) -

Special effects testing involving a large propane fire will take place Friday at the former Six Flags theme park in New Orleans East.

The Mayor's Office of Cultural Economy has issued a filming notice to residents in New Orleans East to alert them of a film production in the area.

From 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., a production company will conduct a special effects testing involving propane fire in the parking lot of the former Six Flags theme park.

The New Orleans Fire Department will be on site ensure public safety and to help facilitate the work.

Film New Orleans connects productions with local crews and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community.

In 2014, New Orleans hosted 60 tax credit film projects, with direct spending of roughly $509 million.
