NOPD: Three carjackings reported Friday in New Orleans

Police report that three people had their cars stolen from them last night in separate incidents.

The first incident occurred at 150 S. Liberty Street. According to NOPD, a 55-year-old woman was approached by an unknown black male who implied he had a weapon. The suspect forced the woman to give up her keys and fled in her vehicle. Police say the suspect has been apprehended and the vehicle recovered.

The second incident occurred around 8:05 p.m. in the 2400 block of Verbana Street. According to police, a 44-year-old man was approaching his vehicle when two unknown black males armed with guns demanded his keys. The victim complied and the two perpetrators fled in his vehicle.

The third incident occurred around 11:28 p.m. near the corner of Jackson and South Claiborne. According to police, a 27-year-old woman pulled her vehicle over after seeing the flat tire indicator light come on. When she stopped to check her tires, police say an armed unknown black male approached her and demanded her vehicle. The victim complied and the perpetrator fled in the vehicle.
