NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans Police say three men face charges related to two car robberies in the French Quarter neighborhood.
Authorities say they have arrested 23-year-old Justin Mattern, 31-year-old Douglas Lyle and 36-year-old Michael Lyle.
They say both robberies happened on Sunday, March 15.
The first one occurred at 8:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Decatur Street. The second took place around 12:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Conti Street.
Authorities say a witness saw one of the suspects breaking into a white Dodge Charger on Decatur Street. He detained the suspect and and held him until officers arrived on the scene. Officers identified the suspect as Justin Mattern.
Mattern was charged with burglary and criminal damage to property, according to officials.
Authorities say another witness saw two men taking a purse out of an unlocked Chevy Cobalt parked on Conti Street.
An NOPD officer arrested the two suspects with the help of witnesses in the area.
They were identified as Douglas and Michael Lyle, according to officials.
Officers say Douglas Lyle may have given them and alias name and he did not have identification when he was arrested.
Both were charged with simple burglary.
