NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - An 18-year-old man killed Monday evening in an Algiers drive-by shooting has been identified.
The incident happened just after 8:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Sumner and DeArmas streets.
Police say that three men were standing in front of the residence when an unknown vehicle approached and opened fire.
Officers say one man was shot several times. The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Steve Brackems, according to the Orleans Parish Coroner. Brackems was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
