Victim identified in New Orleans East double shooting

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

New Orleans homicide detectives are investigating a double shooting that left one man dead.

According to police, David Turner, 35, and a 32-year-old man were sitting inside of a vehicle around 10 p.m. on Saturday when an unknown suspect armed with an AK-47 opened fire. The incident occurred in the 15500 block of Dwyer Road.

When officers arrived on scene they found the 32-year-old man laying beside the car and Turner seated in the passenger seat, both were suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Turner was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 32-year-old was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown.
