(WVUE) - Amy's Kitchen has recalled nearly 74,000 cases of frozen meals over the possible presence of listeria.
The company states that one of their organic spinach suppliers notified the company of the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
Symptoms include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. The company states listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
The recalled products were distributed to stores throughout the United State and Canada. Recalled products include lasagna, enchiladas, pizza and pasta shells.
