Three have been arrested after a man was stabbed to death Monday night in Kenner. Among the arrested is the victim's ex-girlfriend.
A 20-year-old man was stabbed to death in the rear parking lot of a Kenner apartment complex, police say. The incident happened around 9:15 p.m. Monday in the 2800 block of Richland Street in Kenner.
Officers responded to reports of a fight in the area. Police arriving on the scene say they found Kenneth Tassin III, 20, stabbed multiple times in the rear yard of an apartment complex.
He was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Kenner police arrested Ravon Miller, 29, Johneka Woods, 22, and Jonnisha Allen, 22, following an investigation. Officers say Allen is the ex-girlfriend of the victim.
Police say that the three went to Tassin's residence Monday night, where they slashed the tires and damaged the paint on Tassin's new girlfriend's vehicle.
Officers say a verbal altercation followed between Tassin and the three suspects. The altercation turned physical and Allen began to fight Tassin's new girlfriend.
At this point, police say Miller removed a knife and stabbed Tassin five times. He also allegedly took Tassin's girlfriend's phone and refused to return it. Officers say Miller then gave the knife to Woods, who was instructed to hide it from police.
All three suspects were arrested on Tuesday. Miller has been charged with second degree murder. Woods has been charged with principal to second degree murder.
Allen was also charged with principal to second degree murder. She was also charged with theft valued at $600, simple criminal damage to property and disturbing the peace.
