BOGALUSA, LA (WVUE) - A Bogalusa woman faces charges, accused of lying when she told police that her husband abused her.
The Washington Parish Sheriff's Office says Leslie Woodward, 43, schemed to set up her husband and send him to prison after he received a cash settlement in a civil issue.
Deputies arrested Woodward's husband in December 2014 and he remained in jail until February, when he was released on bond. Once he was out of jail, he contacted investigators and a witness backed up his side of the story.
The sheriff's office says investigators found several inconsistencies in Leslie Woodward's story and accuse her of rehearsing phone calls to 911.
Deputies arrested her on March 20 and booked her with injuring public records and criminal mischief. She was released three days later after posting $5,000 bond.
