AFR: Fazende's Mock Draft 1.0

AFR: Fazende's Mock Draft 1.0

The time has finally come. I've watched free agency, I've studied endless mock drafts, I've researched teams. Still, I have no clue which way the Saints and the rest of the NFL will go. Unlike in years past, there doesn't appear to be a clear front-runner for the Saints. They have a lot of options to look at.

Here is my best guess.

NFL 1st Round

.)    Tampa Bay – Jameis Winston QB Florida St.

.)    Tennessee- Leonard Williams DE USC

.)    Jacksonville- Dante Fowler, Jr. Florida

.)    Oakland- Kevin White WR West Virginia

.)    Washington- Randy Gregory OLB Nebraska

.)    NY Jets- Marcus Mariota QB Oregon.

.)    Chicago- Danny Shelton DT Washington

.)    Atlanta- Vic Beasley OLB Clemson

.)    NY Giants- Brandon Scherff Iowa

.) St.Louis- Amari Cooper WR Alabama

.) Minnesota- Devante Parker WR Louisville

.) Cleveland- Bud Dupree OLB , Ketucky

.) New Orleans – Trae Waynes CB Michigan St.

The Saints may have added Brandon Browner but they still need a corner that can play the nickel and be the heir apparent to one of the starters on the outside. I agree that the Saints could also address a pass rusher here. Beasley would be my number one choice but in this mock he would be long gone. The biggest question is who can make the most immediate impact at this pick? I think that player is Waynes who is regarded as the best cornerback in the draft.

.) Miami – Landon Collins, S Alabama

.) San Francisco- Shane Ray, OLB Missouri

.) Houston- Jaelen Strong WR Arizona St.

.) San Diego- Melvin Gordon, RB Wisconsin

.) Kansas City- La'el Collins OT/G LSU

.) Cleveland- Malcolm Brown, DT Texas

.) Philadelphia- Arik Armstead, DT Oregon

.) Cincinnati- Andrus Peat OT Stanford

.) Pittsburgh- Jalen Collins CB LSU

.) Detroit- D.J. Humphries OT Florida

.) Arizona- Todd Gurley, RB Georgia

.) Carolina- Shaq Thompson, LB Washington

.) Baltimore- Eddie Goldman, DT Florida St.

.) Dallas- Owamagbe Odighizuwa, DE UCLA

.) Denver- Maxx Williams, TE Minnesota

.) Indianapolis- T.J. Clemmings OT Pitts burgh

.) Green Bay- Benardrick McKinney LB Mississippi St.

.) New Orleans- Eli Harold OLB Virginia

Harold addresses the Saints pass rushing need with their second pick of the first round.. What stood out most is his great burst off the line of scrimmage but like most athletic outside linebackers will have to work on his technique at the next level. However, he seems comfortable rushing the passer standing up and has relentless effort on every play I watched from him.

.) New England- Kevin Johnson, CB Wake Forest
