NOPD: Body found lodged in wrought iron fence in Mid-City

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

The NOPD is investigating the death of a 58-year-old man who was found with his neck lodged between the top portion of a wrought iron fence in Mid-City.

Police say around 7 a.m., an woman was walking near the intersection of Carrollton and Tulane Avenue when she observed a male with his neck lodged between the top portion of the fence and called police. New Orleans EMS arrived on the scene and pronounced the 58-year-old male dead.

The Coroner has classified the incident as an unclassified death pending an autopsy and detectives are canvassing the area for any witness or evidence to the incident.

The Coroner will investigate to determine the exact cause of death.
