NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Police are searching for a man who opened fire on someone inside a car.

The NOPD issued an arrest warrant for 40-year-old Shelby Williams. They say on March 25, 2015, a 47-year-old man told them he was sitting in his car near the intersection of Horace and Bringier Streets.

The man said Williams walked up around 7:30 p.m., pulled out what he believed to be a high-powered assault rifle, and began shooting. The victim said he sped away, fearing for his safety. He was not injured.

Once apprehended, police say Williams will be booked with one count of aggravated assault.
