NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - After being denied sexual favors, police say a man opened fire on a pair in Mid City.
New Orleans police say that Henry Maye, 45, shot a 49-year-old man around 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the 2800 block of Conti Street. He attempted to shoot a second female victim as well, but ran out of bullets, according to police.
Maye allegedly attempted to solicit sexual favors for pay from the female victim. When the woman refused, police say Maye pulled a gun, fired at the residence and then forced his way inside.
Once inside, officers say he shot the 49-year-old man in the wrist. He stood over a second female victim and attempted to shoot her as well, officials say, but he ran out of bullets.
The suspect later turned himself in. Maye was booked with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a firearm and illegal use of a weapon.
