NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - It as a spectacular weekend with blue sky and sunshine across all of southeast Louisiana and the Mississippi Gulf coast. Temperatures did rise a few degrees today with highs in the middle 70s as southeast winds around the back side of the high pressure continued to push in warmer air and moisture.
Even with the higher dewpoints, Sunday was a lovely day with a comfortable feel still. Temperatures will continue to climb into the beginning of the work week with highs back in the low 80s for Monday.
A cold font approaches, but fizzles just to our north on Monday. It does get close enough to bring a slight chance for rain in late in the day. An upper level trough pushes through mid-week returning rain to the forecast for late Wednesday into Thursday.
Looking ahead to the holiday weekend, it appears Good Friday will be dry and warm, but rain pushes back into the area late Saturday. Another frontal system moves in for Easter Sunday and may threaten some of your holiday celebrations. This is a great time to download the Fox 8 Weather App before getting too close to all the holiday festivities.
