NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - After some fantastic weather over the weekend with plenty of sunshine and low humidity, the moisture is back as well as a chance for rain to start the work week. With high pressure now well to our east, southerly winds pump in moisture across the area. A cold front sinks south and stalls across the area bringing a chance for showers and maybe a heavier storm on Monday afternoon. The frontal boundary will wash out, but leave behind the moisture so upper level disturbances moving through for the middle of the week may trigger scattered showers.
Looking ahead to the holiday weekend it appears Good Friday will be dry and warm, but rain pushes back into the area late Saturday. Another frontal system moves in for Easter Sunday and may threaten some of your holiday celebrations. This is a great time to download the Fox 8 Weather App before getting too close to all the holiday festivities.
