NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A man shot and killed Sunday in Seventh Ward has been identified.
Gregory Journee, 33, was shot and killed around 1:10 a.m. Sunday in the 2000 block of North Broad Street, according to the Orleans Parish Coroner.
Officers arriving on the scene found Journee suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cornell Augustine, 36, was arrested and booked with second-degree murder following the incident.
Investigators say that Augustine was in a physical fight with the Journee prior to the fatal shooting. Augustine allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the victim several times before running away.
Police found Augustine at a home in the 2400 block of D'Abadie Street and took him into custody.
