NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Uber has a plan it thinks will lead to cheaper rides for people looking for ways to get around town.
The ride-sharing company plans to go before City Council Wednesday, asking council members to approve its request to begin cheaper UberX operations in New Orleans. The city already allows Uber's luxury line, "Uber Black," to operate in the city.
Uber says City Council delayed a final vote on whether to bring UberX to New Orleans last week.
Some cab drivers fear expanded Uber operations will cut into their business.
Uber has an email out to customers, asking them to put pressure on council members to approve UberX operations.
