New Orleans police say they have found a car thought to be involved in a hit and run that killed a 71-year-old woman.
On March 29, the driver of a orange-colored early model Ford Mustang was speeding southbound on Elysian Fields Avenue just before 3:30 a.m. Investigators say the driver hit the victim as she was crossing the street with her walker at the corner of North Dorgenois Street. She died before help could arrive on scene.
On Tuesday, an officer responded to a tip that the wanted vehicle was in an abandoned lot in the 3100 block of Industrial Court. Detectives and crime lab technicians are processing the vehicle for evidence. Police have not made an arrest.
