Crimestoppers tip leads to arrest of 6 drug suspects

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A CRIMESTOPPERS tip helped New Orleans Police arrest six people Wednesday in connection with a drug operation.

Officers say they obtained a search warrant for a house in the 2400 block of Allen street after receiving the tip. Police were able to set up a sting and purchase crack cocaine from two people inside of the house resulting in six arrests.

Police arrested 17-year-old Quintell Shaw on charges of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, 20-year-old Terrell Platt on charges of Possession with the Intent to Distribute 1.30 grams of Crack Cocaine and 22-year-old Andre Francis on charges of Possession of Marijuana and Paraphernalia, Possession of a Firearm while in the presence of Narcotics. Francis was also charged with a probation violation.

Twenty-three-year-old Michael McGrew was arrested on charges of Distribution of 1.50 grams of Crack Cocaine, 28-year-old Arian Green was arrested on charges of Possession of Marijuana and 27-year-old Eric Brown was arrested on charges of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Narcotics while in possession of a firearm. Brown also had an outstanding warrant from the Kenner Police Department.
