NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Demand is high for crawfish during Holy Week. The Louisiana delicacy will cost you ahead of Easter weekend.
In the New Orleans area, the average price for a pound of boiled crawfish is up 41 cents to $5.29, according to our partners at Nola.com/The Times Picayune.
But this is a deal compared to last year's prices.
"Prices this year are pretty reasonable," said Tim LeBlanc Jr, of Leblanc's Seafood Processing. "You should be able to buy a good sack of crawfish between 70-80 bucks as compared to last year it was more around 100-120 dollars."
