NOPD: Man shot near Eagle and Marks

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

A man was shot trying to flee from an armed robber on Friday night.

According to NOPD, a 44-year-old man was shot near the intersection of Eagle and Marks Streets around 9:30 p.m. on April 3.

Police said the victim was sitting on a porch in the area when he was an unknown black man armed with a gun approached him and demanded his belongings.

The victim threw his wallet on the ground and attempted to run, but the subject opened fire and shot the victim.

The victim was taken to the hospital by private conveyance.

    Surveillance cameras captured pictures of two men the NOPD says were seen burglarizing multiple vehicles in a downtown garage.  Investigators say the images from inside the garage in the 400 block of O'Keefe Street show one man wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jogging pants.
