Pelicans win streak ends at four following 99-90 loss to Trail Blazers

The New Orleans Pelicans were not only looking to close out their west coast road trip on a positive note, Saturday, but they were also looking for their fifth-consecutive victory. The Portland Trail Blazers had other plans, out-scoring New Orleans 24-18 in the fourth quarter en route to a 99-90 win.

Tyreke Evans led the way for the Pelicans (41-35) with 21 points, seven rebounds and nine assists. Eric Gordon had 22 points, while Anthony Davis chipped 19 points and nine rebounds. With the loss, New Orleans now sits one game behind Oklahoma City for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Both teams have six games remaining in the regular season.

The Trail Blazers (50-26) were led by LaMarcus Aldridge who posted 21 points and 12 rebounds and Damian Lillard who tallied 19 points.

The Pelicans return home to face the Golden State Warriors (63-13) Tuesday. The Warriors not only have the best record in the Western Conference, but also the best in the NBA. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Smoothie King Center.
