LAPLACE, LA (WVUE) - A LaPlace man has been arrested after he allegedly raped his girlfriend's 13-year-old daughter, St. John the Baptist Parish sheriffs say.
Delcome Evans, 36, was arrested on April 3 and charged with forcible rape.
St. James Parish Hospital personnel reported that a 13-year-old girl was sexually assaulted.
The 13-year-old victim told deputies that her mother's boyfriend sexually assaulted her Thursday morning at her residence after her mother had left for work. The victim identified Evans as the suspect.
After Evans left the residence, officers say the victim told her older sister what happened. The victim's mother was alerted and the 13-year-old was taken to the hospital.
The 13-year-old told investigators that she did what Evans told her to do because she feared that he would hurt her or her sister if she did not do what he said.
Evans remains in custody in lieu of a $75,000 bond.
