BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) - For the 12th-straight game, LSU racked up double-digit hits, Wednesday, as the Tigers outscored Northwestern State, 9-6.
Jake Godfrey lasted five innings, allowing four hits and three earned runs in his first outing since an early departure Saturday at Alabama. Five other pitchers would come on in relief, allowing a combined six runs on eight hits and three errors.
On offense, Alex Bregman went 3-for-3, leading a 15-hit performance for the Tigers (29-5). The Demons (17-15) got on the board first with a first inning fielder's choice and after LSU responded in the bottom of the frame, NWSU rallied for two more runs in the top of the second. That would be the last time the game was in question as the Tigers put up four runs and never looked back.
LSU continues their six-game home stand when Auburn comes to town for a weekend series, start Friday at 7 PM.
