Mother and children arrested after shooting in Kenner

KENNER, LA (WVUE) - Kenner Police arrest a mother and three juveniles after a shooting Wednesday evening.

Kenner police say Lakenya Hall, 35, drove a group of juveniles, which included her sons, to the 3500 block of W. La. State Drive so they could finish a fight that started at a bus stop.

But, that fist fight turned into a shooting when a 15-year-old pulled a gun and shot at the group brought to the location by Hall.

Investigators say a 14-year old boy was shot in the upper thigh. He was taken to Ochsner Kenner for treatment.

The 15-year old who lives at the location on W. La. State Drive is booked with aggravated battery, illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, illegal use of weapons and disturbing the peace.

Police booked Hall with disturbing the peace and six counts of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles.

The other two arrested juveniles are Lakenya Hall's sons, ages 11 and 15.

They are being held at the Jefferson Juvenile Assessment Center awaiting a continued custody hearing.

Kenner Police say they expect to make additional arrests in the case.

Kenner Police Chief Michael J. Glaser urges anyone with information concerning this incident, to call the Kenner Police Detective Peter Foltz at (504) 712-2253 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
