NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A weak upper disturbance brought us lots of clouds but very little rain today. That will change on Friday as a cold front should trigger several periods of showers with lightning and thunder and heavy downpours.
If the front sags off our coast, we could see some drier air on Saturday into early Sunday before the front returns northward, bringing back some showers for Sunday evening into Monday.
In fact, most of next week looks unsettled with daily rain chances bringing the potential for some rain totals topping 4-6 inches for the week. It could be a very wet period.
