NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - An approaching cold front, which has been triggering severe storms across the Plains and Midwest, is heading south.
We are under a slight risk for severe weather Friday, although I think the greater risk is for folks nearer the East coast.
Heavy rain, small hail, strong winds and even an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. The main risk comes in around midday and lasts through the evening.
The front looks as though it will move south of the coast, clearing us out somewhat for Saturday and early Sunday.
I don't think Saturday will be completely dry, but rain coverage will be quite a bit less. We begin a pattern of daily rain chances next week.
