NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Police captured a teenager after he allegedly robbed a woman at gunpoint, stealing her car.

According to NOPD, 19-year-old Joshua Raymond pulled a gun on a 55-year-old woman around 12:40 a.m. in the 10500 block of Curran Road on April 11. Police say Raymond demanded the woman's car keys. She complied and he fled in her 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander.

Minutes later, police say an off duty sheriff's deputy spotted the vehicle inside the an apartment complex and attempted to stop it. Raymond abandoned the car and fled on foot, climbing over a fence into a nearby neighborhood.

More officers arrived on scene, set up a perimeter and called in a canine unit. The canine officer and his partner "Slomok" were able to catch Raymond without incident. He was found hiding under a house in the 7900 bock of Lehigh Street.

Police arrested Raymond on charges of Armed Robbery, Theft of a Vehicle and Illegal Possession of Stolen Things.
