NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Top-ranked LSU was unable to get its offense fired up until late and it cost them, falling 6-1, Saturday, to Auburn. The loss snaps a seven-game winning streak for the LSU (30-6, 9-5).
LSU's lone run on the night came courtesy of center fielder Andrew Stevenson, who blasted a solo home run to right field in the eighth inning.
Auburn (21-14, 6-9) was led by Keegan Thompson, who earned his seventh win on the season, pitching a complete game. He struck out three, while only giving up one walk.
The two teams resume play Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
