A Kenner man is accused of stabbing 52-year-old acquaintance over a loaned television set, police say.
Jairus Wallace, 28, was arrested on Friday and charged with attempted second degree murder
Officers say that Wallace loaned a television set to the 52-year-old victim. During an altercation over the loan, police say Wallace pulled a large kitchen knife and stabbed the victim multiple times.
Kenner police say they obtained surveillance video of the incident, showing Wallace approach the victim who was sitting in the passenger side of a vehicle.
Officers say that Wallace stabbed the victim five times before the vehicle drove away.
Wallace was taken into custody at his home in the 300 block of Clemson Place. Police say a knife was recovered at the residence. His bond was set at $200,000.
Officers say the victim was required to undergo emergency surgery as the result of the stab wounds. He is expected to make a full recovery.
