Man shot in attempted robbery in Kenner

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A man was shot Monday during an attempted robbery in Kenner, according to the Kenner Police Department.

The victim said he was in front of his home on Helena Street at about 9 p.m. when he was approached by a group of six men. One man approached the victim, demanded money and stuck him in the face. Another man produced a handgun and pointed it at the victim. The victim fled on foot and the gunman fired several shots, striking the victim in the back.

The victim was taken to LSU Interim Hospital where he was treated and listed in stable condition.

The suspects are described as black males around 15 to 19 years old.
