LOCKPORT, LA (WVUE) - A Lockport woman faces charges of prostitution and filing a false police report.
Detectives received reports of an alleged rape at a Galliano hotel on Monday.
Officers arriving on the scene say Vietta Turner, 23, filed a complaint alleging that a 44-year-old man raped her earlier in the evening.
Following an investigation, deputies say that the accused man had solicited Turner's services via social media. After engaging in consensual activities for money, officers say Turner wanted to make a "quick exit."
She ran from the room to the reception desk, where she advised staff members that she had been raped.
An investigation revealed that Turned did engage in sex for money, and later decided that she did not want to stay with the man overnight, deputies say.
Turner was subsequently charged with prostitution and filing a false police report. She is being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $5,500 bond.
