Filming in Quarter, Algiers will close streets

Separate productions will be filming early next week in the French Quarter and Algiers, and will require street closures.

On Monday from 9 p.m. until midnight, a production company will film exterior scenes on Royal Street between Barracks and St. Ann streets. There will be street closures westbound at Gov. Nicholls and Royal streets, and northbound on Ursulines Street. There will also be a closure westbound on Royal Street at St. Philip Street and westbound on Royal Street at Dumaine Street, with traffic being allowed northbound on Dumaine Street through Royal Street intermittently.

On Tuesday from 1 a.m. until 4 a.m., a production company will film exterior scenes on Chartres Street. The street will be closed the entire time.

In Algiers, a production company will film exterior scenes at 701 Thayer Street. The sequence will involve special effects, including simulated automatic gunfire. The street will be closed from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The New Orleans Fire Department and law enforcement will be on site to ensure public safety and help facilitate the work.
