Pelicans trail 55-52 to Warriors at the half

OAKLAND, CA (WVUE) -

The Pelicans produced a much better start in Game 2, racing out to a 28-17 first quarter lead. Eric Gordon tallied 11 points in the opening period, while Anthony Davis added 10 as New Orleans took advantage of a cold-shooting Warriors team.

However, Golden State caught fire in the second quarter, outscoring the Pels 38-24 to enter halftime with a three point lead at 55-52.

Steph Curry was 6-10 for 16 first half points. The Warriors were 7-15 from deep.

Anthony Davis tallied 14 for the Pelicans, making 7-13 attempts. Norris Cole also provided another spark off the bench, with 9 points.

    LSU followed up their extremely disappointing 30-point loss to Mississippi State, with a lackluster win over an average Syracuse squad, 35-26.   Syracuse cut the Tigers lead to two points in the fourth quarter, but a D.J.
