New information after a 2-year-old was shot in Treme; Blue Bell issues voluntary recall of all products: Watch FOX 8 Morning Edition now

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

A 2-year-old girl was shot Monday night while playing outside.

The incident happened at the edge of the Treme neighborhood, one block from the French Quarter. Officers received reports of the shooting just before 8:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Gov. Nicholls Street. New Orleans Police say that a man walked up and started shooting as a group of adults and children were outside.

Police said the girl sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to the hospital.

Blue Bell has issued a voluntary recall of all its products currently on the market due to the possible threat of listeria contamination, the company announced Monday.

That includes ice cream, frozen yogurt, sherbet and frozen snacks.
