NOPD seeks man who opened fire on driver stopped at red light in Marigny

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The NOPD is asking for the public's help in finding and identifying a man and a woman in connection with a shooting in the Marigny. Police are also looking for a truck that was used in the incident.

The shooting took place Sunday at about 11:15 p.m. at Elysian Fields Avenue and Royal Street.

Police said a 35-year-old man was stopped at a red light when a black truck pulled up next to him. The driver of the truck began shooting at the victim, striking him several times and causing him to lose control of his vehicle. The victim struck several vehicles and a building.

After the shooting, the suspects fled in the truck in an unknown direction.

The victim was taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

The driver of the truck was described as black male in his mid to late 20s with a beard and a fade hairstyle. The passenger of the truck was described as a young black female with a light complexion.
