NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The NOPD is asking for the public's help in locating and identifying a suspect wanted in connection with the shooting of a two-year-old girl Monday in Treme.
The incident took place shortly before 8:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Gov. Nicholls Street.
Police say a two-year-old girl was outside playing with other children and adults when an unknown black male approached and fired multiple shots into the crowd, striking the girl in the leg.
After the shooting, the suspect fled on foot north on Gov. Nicholls Street and turned right on Henriette Delille Street, then in an unknown direction.
As a result of the shooting, the 2-year-old girl sustained a broken leg.
