Coroner identifies man, 18, killed in Central City shooting

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans Police are investigating a Central City shooting that left an 18-year-old man dead.

The incident occurred Sunday at 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and South Johnson Street.

The Orleans Parish Coroner has identified the victim as 18-year-old Jermaine Martin.

Detectives say that Martin was shot at the intersection and ran a short distance on South Johnson Street where he collapsed.

Officers found Martin shot on a sidewalk. He transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
