Thousands are left without power around the New Orleans metro area as a massive storm moves over the city. FOX 8 has received dozens of reports of downed power lines, snapped trees, heavy lighting, flooding streets and damaging winds.

In Jefferson Parish, high winds tossed eleven rail cars from the Huey P. Long Bridge. No injuries were reported in the incident. Officials do not believe the cars were carrying hazardous materials.

The Causeway Bridge is closed in both directions due to high winds and heavy rains.
